Lake front festival of the Arts: The story of Elaine Unzicker
Hello everyone, my name is Crystal Williams, and welcome to my second blog called Adventurous Dreams. In this blog, I will be writing stories of my own experiences that I have had that is not sports-related, and also writing articles on interesting topics. If you are interested in sports, please visit my first blog, where I post all sports content called Crystal Sideline Buzz: Crystal Sideline Buzz. In today's article, I will be discussing this amazing artist that I met, named Elaine Unzicker, who makes these wonderful designer dresses and other accessories out of chain links! I would like to thank Elaine and her wonderful husband for giving me to opportunity to tell your story!
Turning chain links into wearable clothing
What immediately caught my eye was this beautiful dress that was displayed at the center of the booth. As I took a look at it closely, I noticed it was made from chain links with delicate freshwater pearls at the hem. As I approached the booth, I found a husband and wife standing together. Initially, I assumed they were both artists, but after speaking to the husband, he told me that his wife was the artist behind the beautiful artwork, while he was there to support her. The admiration in his eyes was unmistakable; he was deeply in love with her, cherishing every moment by her side as she flourished. There is something I find truly beautiful about a man who supports his wife and who wholeheartedly uplifts her, no envy, just love and encouragement.
I was finally able to speak to Elaine Unzicker, she's a talented artist whose beauty, kindness, and enthusiasm to share her story about her wonderful art. She earned a master's degree in fine arts, specializing in jewelry and sculpture. After graduation, she worked at a chainmail workshop, where she knew little about, but soon she learned how to create and cut rings from wire. As Elaine became more familiar with the process, she discovered the material's softness and began exploring ways to make it into something wearable for women.
As I continued to speak to Elaine, she explained how long it takes to make these designs and how she takes her time and does not rush. "The dresses are one of a kind. I do not rush them, because I let them speak to me," she says
Once I got home after the event, I decided to do some research and see how much these dresses, ties, and other accessories cost. First, let's talk about the Triangle Dress, it's valued at $10.000. Then there's the invincible jacket at $6,000, the Vest at $1,800. The Time Traveler's Vest at $1,600, the Tank Top at $950, and the Bikini Top at $650. Honestly, these prices seem reasonable given the time involved in creating these pieces. I can easily see someone who is wealthy wearing the attire at a red carpet event or something similarly high-profile, making them a bold fashion statement. Someone like Lady Gaga, for instance, would undoubtedly turn heads in one of these designs.
These Necklaces range from $90 to $800. Once again, this is a fair price considering they are among her quicker designs compared to the dresses that take longer to make.
All in all, if you are very interested in jewelry and looking for something trendy and new, I would highly recommend taking a look at her website, where she sells beautiful dresses, shirts, necklaces, bracelets, purses, and more!
